What Berlin writes
This is a photo and walk project in the Soli 36 area in Berlin Kreuzberg . During the walk, the set of photos were taken collecting graffiti related to gentrification. The set includes a map, the pictures and the root of the walk are marked, in a direct reference to their actual location.
Located in a particular space and time frame, the act of walking becomes the integral part of the project. As Michel de Certeau puts it “ the long poem of walking manipulates spatial organizations, no matter how panoptic they may be: it is neither foreign to them (it can take place only within them) nor in conformity in them (it doesn’t receive its identity from them). It creates shadows and ambiguities within them. It inserts its multitudinous references and citations into them (social models, cultural mores, personal factors). In: The practice of everyday life p.101
